HEALTH ALLIANCE FOR AUSTIN MUSICIANS
|
I had heard about health insurance for Austin musicians for years, and then investigated this when I moved back to Austin in 2006. I went in to the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians office and received an interview and got on the program. For only $17, I got to visit with the best doctor I've met in years - very sincere and caring, and paved the way (with her advice) for healthier living this past year. But, the best part was the dental side. I received phone calls every 3 months for appointments at the dental RV near Ruta Maya, where I received excellent care. Beleive me, this was even better when I wasn't a working musician and had health insurance! - Mo Pair
HAAM Benefit Day 2010
September 21, 2010
HAAM Benefit Day is a uniquely Austin event where businesses donate 5% of the day's proceeds to HAAM to support musicians' health. Musicians, most of whom are HAAM members, perform throughout the day at retail stores, outside stages, City Hall and more. The event runs from 6am to well past midnight and community members are invited to shop, eat out, listen to great live music and enjoy! See last year's schedule
